Scotland international Geoff Cross has his clippers at the ready as he edges ever closer to the £10,000 target which he has vowed will bring the demise of his magnificent beard.
The London Irish prop promised to remove the facial plumage in order to raise funds for the children’s charity Wooden Spoon which uses rugby to transform the lives of disadvantaged youngsters.
He’ll be hoping that Scotland avoid the actual wooden spoon come the end of the Six Nations…
Cross, who is part of a Scotland squad competing at the Six Nations, was given a much needed boost when none other than JK Rowling sponsored him £5,000.
Perhaps the Harry Potter author sees a bit of Hagrid in him…
